As Alberta's capital city, Edmonton boasts a number of claims to fame such as being home to championship-winning professional sports teams The Edmonton Oilers, the defending Grey Cup champions The Edmonton Eskimos, and Edmonton's internationally renowned, year-round flurry of festivals that have earned the city the nickname Festival City.

However equally responsible for Edmonton's growing reputation for excellence is the city's evolution into one of the finest and most diverse shopping meccas in Canada - most especially in the thriving west end.

Here one can find the infamous West Edmonton Mall - the largest shopping mall in the world. With over 800 stores and services, this massive and colourful centre is a favourite with both local and visiting retail enthusiasts. An absolute must-see, make a point of visiting the 'Greatest Indoor Show on Earth', which is bound to service all your shopping needs.

Not far off, the popular Mayfield Common similarly offers the seasoned shopper a wide assortment of retail products and experiences - be it that forgotten toiletry, that one-of-a-kind keepsake, or anything in between.

Moving closer to the city's core but still part of the west end quadrant, the quaint and distinctive 124th Street Area, which is peppered with coffee houses and art galleries amidst a plethora of great little shoppes, offers a charming and unique shopping experience.

So as you can see, with so many shopping opps in Edmonton's west end, the only problem you'll have is deciding where to go first!
